MANAGEMENT

Marty Silber, Director of Operations
Prior to forming Stella Capital, Marty worked for several start-up companies in the sustainability field. In addition, for a Washington, DC based consulting firm, Marty developed and implemented a business plan for facilitating and financing renewable energy projects in Pennsylvania. As a lobbyist for the DC Sierra Club, Marty was one of the key leaders in the successful legislative effort to introduce a Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) in Washington, DC. In August, 2006, Marty obtained an MBA from The George Washington University that focuses on Entrepreneurship and Environmental Management, and completed his Masters of Accounting from University of Southern California in 1996.

Scott Sklar, Director of Project Facilitation
For the last 5 years, Scott Sklar has run The Stella Group, Ltd., a strategic marketing and policy firm advancing the utilization of clean, distributed energy applications, after 15 years running simultaneously the Solar Energy Industries Association and the National BioEnergy Industries Association.  For two years prior, he was Political Director of the Solar Lobby formed by the national environmental groups, after 3 years at the National Center for Appropriate Technology as alternatively RD&D and Washington Directors. Scott served for nine years as an energy and military aide to Senator Jacob K. Javits (NY) and was co-founder of the Congressional Solar Coalition - the group that drove the early 1970's legislation for renewables.

Peter Lowenthal, Director of Technical Services
•   President of Solar Service & Supply from 1979-1992 - serviced orphaned solar hearting systems and engaged in consulting and international development projects.
•   Director of the Solar thermal and Building Products Division at SEIA for 4 years.
•   Key leader in the efforts to re-establish and expand the solar heating industry nationwide and is prepared to conduct training classes to establish a national installation certification program.
•   At the SEIA, International Programs Director working closely with the Business Council for Sustainable Development, and other associations in the Export Council for Energy Efficiency. Developed programs with strategic partner industries, Caribbean Hotel association, International Lead Zinc research organization, and the International Irrigation Association. Organized trade missions and provided industry with advice and introductions for International opportunities.
